During Halloween the Alabama State Parks will have family-friendly "spooktacular" events going on all around the state.

Halloween is a fun time of year at our Alabama state parks. Take your pick of several family-friendly "spooktacular" park events around the beautiful state.

Treats, Fun, & Games! - Join the staff and volunteers of DeSoto State Park, National Park Service, JSU Field Schools, & the Conservation Education Institute for a weekend of fun events guaranteed to run shivers up and down your spine! Trick or treating, games, live animals, storytelling, and more are in store during this popular annual event. Grab your favorite costume, bring the family, and come stay with us! All events are free to the public and great for all ages. More details to come!

Family Friendly Halloween Beach Camp Out: 

- Showing of a family friendly Halloween movie.

- Ghost stories around bonfire

- Families can spend the night on the beach at the Pier in their own tent (must provide your own tent)

Park will provide hotdogs to roast over fire, s’mores, hot chocolate


Help SOPA help the parks and join us for a fun family filled fun day at the campground;trick or treatging will be available in section H and VIP of the campground. Don't forget to decorate the campers, we will judge the best decor as well. You don't have to be camping to join us. $2.00 parking at the beach.
